Privacy Policy — Task Clarity Chrome Extension
This Privacy Policy explains how the Task Clarity Chrome Extension ("Extension", "we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, transmits, and protects information when you use the Extension.
The Extension is designed solely to help users improve task clarity and productivity by analyzing task-related content displayed on supported webpages.
Information We Collect
The Extension may access and process the following information only as required for its functionality:
- IP address — used for security, fraud prevention, request validation, and abuse detection.
- Browser information / User-Agent — used for compatibility checks, diagnostics, and performance improvements.
- Authentication session token / cookies — used only to maintain your authenticated session with the Task Clarity platform.
- Task-related text content from supported active webpages — the Extension reads visible task content from the currently active supported page in order to analyze tasks and generate clarity recommendations.
The Extension does not collect unrelated browsing history, background browsing activity, or data from unsupported webpages.
How Information Is Used
Collected information is used exclusively for:
- analyzing task-related content;
- generating task clarity suggestions and recommendations;
- maintaining authenticated sessions;
- ensuring extension stability and compatibility;
- preventing misuse, fraud, and abuse.
We do not use collected data for advertising, profiling, or sale to third parties.
Data Transmission and Backend Processing
To provide AI-powered task analysis features, task-related content from supported pages may be securely transmitted to our backend servers and AI processing infrastructure.
This transmission occurs only when required to provide the core user-facing functionality of the Extension.
Such data is processed solely for generating task analysis results and is not used for any unrelated purpose.
Local Storage
The Extension may store limited operational data locally on your device using Chrome storage APIs, including:
- authentication state;
- cached task analysis results;
- user preferences;
- temporary session data.
Third-Party Services
The Extension may use backend infrastructure and AI processing services operated by Task Clarity or trusted service providers strictly for providing its core functionality.
Payment processing, account management, and website services are handled separately by the Task Clarity platform and may be subject to separate policies.
Permissions and Access
The Extension accesses webpage content only on supported pages and only to the extent necessary to deliver task analysis functionality.
It does not access unrelated tabs, browsing history, or webpage content outside its declared purpose.
Data Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect transmitted and locally stored information from unauthorized access, disclosure, or modification.
However, no method of transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
User Control
You may remove locally stored data at any time by:
- clearing extension data in Chrome settings;
- logging out of the Task Clarity platform;
- uninstalling the Extension.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
The latest published version will always apply.
